Nipsey Hussle was reportedly gunned down in Los Angeles on Sunday.

TMZ reports that sources have said the rapper was shot in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, just south of Crenshaw outside of his clothing store, Marathon Clothing Company, which he opened in 2017.

Reports suggest that Nip was shot at least six times. Law enforcement reports that three men were shot outside of Marathon, with one passing away. It is not yet clear if that man is Nipsey.

What’s more is that he eerily tweeted out a message in reference to his enemies, just moments before the time of the shooting.

Marathon, on the corner of Slauson and Crenshaw, is just one of the businesses that Nipsey, born Ermias Asghedom, owns in the area. Affectionately known as Neighborhood Nip in his city, Nipsey is known to be affiliated with the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, but has off set such an affiliation in recent times as his image as an influential artist and shrewd businessman has taken the spotlight.

“I grew up in gang culture,” he one told the Los Angeles Times. “We dealt with death, with murder. It was like living in a war zone, where people die on these blocks and everybody is a little bit immune to it. I guess they call it post-traumatic stress, when you have people that have been at war for such a long time. I think L.A. suffers from that because it’s not normal yet we embrace it like it is after a while.”

In 2017, Nipsey singed a joint deal with Atlantic Records, dropping off his Grammy-nominated debut album Victory Lap last year.

This story is still developing.
