The case was previously rejected by the D.A.’s office.
A promoter who claimed 21 Savage bailed on a show and never returned the money he was paid is now taking the rapper to court for $1M, according to TMZ. The promoter who filed charges against 21 Savage last month is now filing a civil suit against the rapper. Sadaetirs Kent Smith, the promoter from Georgia, tried to file charges against 21 Savage for theft by deception after the rapper pocketed $16,500. However, the D.A’s office recently rejected it, claiming it was a civil matter.21’s lawyer, Abby Taylor, denied that charges against the rapper, saying, “Mr. Joseph has committed no criminal offense. We look forward to an amicable resolution between the parties in the near future with no criminal implications whatsoever.”
If the criminal case did move forward and 21 Savage happened to get convicted, a felony charge would’ve flubbed the rapper’s chances of staying in the United States.
