When it was alleged that Kim Foxx had meddled in Jussie Smollett’s case before all sixteen of his criminal charges were dropped, the public was unhappy, calling for her to be removed from her position. Smollett was accused of lying to the police about a hate crime, saying that he was beaten by two men who called him homophobic and racist names. In newly-surfaced text messages, Kim Foxx can be seen allegedly messaging one of the prosecutors in the Smollett case, comparing the charges to R. Kelly’s and referring to the Empire actor as a “washed up celeb.”

As reported by Daily Mail, Kim Foxx sent text messages to Joe Magats, the prosecutor she handed the case to after recusing herself, where she continues to comment on the legal aspects of the charges. “I’m recused, but when people accuse us of overcharging cases…16 counts on a class 4 becomes exhibit A,” she wrote. “Pedophile with 4 victims 10 counts. Washed up celeb who lied to cops, 16,” she added, comparing Smollett’s case to R. Kelly’s.

Those aren’t the only text messages that were leaked. According to the same source, Michael Avenatti actually tried to insert himself in the case by representing the Osundairo brothers, who were accused of attacking Smollett. The messages can all be seen here. What do you make of this?
