Nicki Minaj had a roller coaster of a year in 2018. For months, her fans were curious about her whereabouts after she seemingly fell off the map. After stepping out from behind her veil of privacy, Minaj engaged in a feud with Cardi B that made headlines for most of the year. Still, she was able to show and prove with a new album, Queen, the sold very well worldwide. Minaj did have an infamous social media meltdown after not reaching number one on Billboard with her latest album, but she’ll soon be number one in the world if she can keep selling music.According to Chart Data, Minaj has sold 99 million units through albums, singles, and features certified by the Recording Industry Association of America. She is only one million in sales away from becoming the first female rapper to reach 100 million in sales. Minaj should have no trouble selling a million more units across singles and features, and her album Queen is still bringing in a decent amount of streams every week. The Young Money signee has come a long way since the days when Lil Wayne rapped on the “Upgrade U” remix “And I just signed a chick named Nicki Minaj.”
