Tekashi 6ix9ine, Nicki Minaj, and Kanye West were slated to shoot a music video while the rainbow-haired rapper was in Los Angeles. 6ix9ine has been stirring up beef with several artists on the West Coast, and was recently prevented from entering ComplexCon in Long Beach by YG’s affiliate Slim 400. According to reports, a drive-by shooting took place at the Beverly Hills home where Tekashi was filming the video.

TMZ caught up with Public Enemy veteran Chuck D, and the legend was confused about why Kanye West was hanging out with Tekashi in the first place. Chuck D seemed amused at the fact that Tekashi is from Brooklyn, which means the vet has heard of the rainbow-haired rapper’s antics at least. He delivered a well-thought message about the youth not receiving proper guidance from their elders, and how making smart decisions is key. “What is an older person hanging with a younger person anyway? Either you help the younger person, or you just gotta stay outta that,” Chuck explained. He obviously has some kind of issue with Kanye working with Tekashi, because the age difference is a poor excuse. Older heads such as Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Nas, and others have collaborated with younger artists for years.
